Day #1: I Can't Stick to One Thing (And I'm Done Trying)
Christian Haslbeck·For years I tried to pick a niche and become "the XYZ guy". It never worked. So I'm doing the opposite - and documenting all of it, starting today.
I have a problem.
I can't stick to one thing.
And for a long time, I thought I had to.
Pick a niche, they said
Become known for ONE thing.
Talk about ONE thing.
Sell ONE thing.
Sounds reasonable.
Except...
that's just not me.
What I actually love
I love building businesses.
I love fitness.
Software.
Football.
Traveling.
Investing.
Marketing.
Random ideas that pop into my head at 11:37 PM and suddenly feel like the most important thing in the world.
I can get ridiculously excited about an idea...
and 20 minutes later I've already bought the domain.
(My girlfriend loves this.)
For years, I thought I needed to somehow fix that.
Focus more.
Have fewer ideas.
Become "the XYZ guy."
So I've decided to do the opposite
I'm going to lean into it.
I want to build companies.
Launch weird experiments.
Get ridiculously fit.
Travel.
Meet interesting people.
Make money.
Lose money doing stupid things.
Build things that probably shouldn't exist.
And generally try to create the most interesting life I possibly can.
And I'm going to document it
Here.
Every day.
No polished guru bullshit.
Just stories about what I'm doing, what I'm thinking, what I'm building, what worked...
and especially what didn't.
Sometimes I'll have something to sell you.
Sometimes I won't.
Could be software.
Could be a fitness program.
Could be an opportunity to build a business with me.
Could be something I haven't even thought of yet.
That's kind of the point.
Day #1
I genuinely don't know where this is going.
But I think that's what makes it interesting.
So...
Day #1.
Let's see what happens.
