Build the next piece of your vision

Yesterday I realized I was asking the wrong question.
I’m currently building a podcast studio.
So naturally, I’ve been thinking about microphones.
Microphone arms.
Cameras.
Furniture.
Acoustics.
All the little things you apparently need before you can sit down and talk to another human for two hours.
And at some point I caught myself asking:
“What’s the easiest setup I can get away with?”
Then I realized…
That’s not what I want.
I don’t want a little podcast corner that somehow works.
I want to build the foundation for a MASSIVE media studio.
A place where I can record podcasts.
Create content.
Interview interesting people.
Build shows.
Produce whatever crazy media ideas I come up with over the next few years.
Now, obviously, I’m not building all of that today.
But here’s something I’ve learned about myself:
I’m massively motivated by having a small piece of a big vision already in front of me.
Even if it’s only 10%.
Because suddenly the vision isn’t just something in my head anymore.
It’s real.
I can walk into the room.
Sit down.
Turn on the microphones.
And think:
“This is the beginning.”
The cameras can come later.
Another recording area can come later.
A bigger team can come later.
New formats can come later.
You don’t need to build the entire vision on Day 1.
Sometimes you just need to build enough of it that you can SEE where you’re going.
And I think we often do the opposite in business.
We ask:
“What’s the cheapest thing that works right now?”
“What do I need today?”
“How can I keep this small?”
Those aren’t necessarily bad questions.
But sometimes there’s a better one:
“What am I actually trying to build?”
Because once you know that, you can build the first small piece of THAT.
Not some temporary version you’ll want to throw away six months from now.
And there’s another problem:
When you’re inside your own business every day, it can be incredibly hard to see the bigger picture.
You’re too close.
That’s one of the reasons I love talking through businesses with other entrepreneurs.
An outside perspective can suddenly make something obvious that you’ve been staring at for months.
That’s exactly what I offer in my 1:1 Business Consultations.
We’ll look at where your business is today…
but more importantly:
Where do you actually want this thing to go?
And what’s the smartest next piece to build?
I’ve put together a package of 5 private Business Consultations for €999.
Five sessions.
Your business.
Your ideas.
Your problems.
Your opportunities.
And someone from the outside challenging the way you’re currently thinking about them.
